Transcriptors is registered at Companies House and commences trading as a limited company, together with David's brother Anthony as company secretary.
Borehamwood
David moves the factory to 2 Theobald Street, Borehamwood and carries on with the production of the hydraulic reference and his latest addition, the saturn turntable.
A Clockwork Orange
Transcriptors Hydraulic Reference Turntable. David Gammon supplied the turntable to Stanley Kubrick for the 1971 classic, A Clockwork Orange after visit to the Borehamwood factory, David sent his engineer Bill Cheney with the turntable to Elstree Film Studios.
J.H Nelson Audio
Joan Nelson was David's secretary and was appointed sole agents for the UK until 1981. She was based at Mycott House, Station Road in Breohamwood.
J A Michell Engineering
In 1973 when Transcriptors relocated to Ireland, David and John signed a contract which was known as the ‘Technical Agreement’ which was witnessed by his then receptionist Joan Nelson that allowed the Michell company to reproduce the Hydraulic under license. Some of the early branded Michell Hydraulic reference turntables with the original round feet are in fact Transcriptor units as David had left John a few turntables to get started in the turntable business. The agreement ran between 1973 to 1977.
